STAY IN LOVE

Yes I know I know, it has been two weeks since I last blogged :(
Trust me I really wanna sit here and blog away but I've been too caught up with too many things and events that my time's just right for everything. Hahaha.

Even though I had 7 days off from work last week, I still couldn't find time to blog. I only had just enough time to meet everyone, do everything and SLEEP! TSK. Too much to accomplish yet so little time. OFF DAYS ARE VERY PRECIOUS. So don't blame me, I'll come back with a good post soon okay........................ AND speaking of which, I'll do up a post (probably the next one) about my skincare regime! :D Since my BFF did a post about hers HERE, I thought I should do up one too since many are asking about what I use on my face and body... AND also because I'm freaking obsessed with my own face la. Hahahahahahahaa.

Please do leave comments to lemme know what you wanna know more about me, and if I could, I would do up a post! ^^
So stay tune and I'll be back in no time. LOVE Y'ALL <3

Here is definitely where I belong.

I've flown around the World for close to 2 years now; Been to places I've never even dreamt of going, exploring stations I've never even studied in Geography before. This job taught me well, somehow makes me a smarter person because I got to learn how to deal with people, be damn street smart and no doubt, instilled more general knowledge than I've ever had.

x

Many asked, "Where's your favourite place to go?" or "Which country you love the most?"
I took a while to realize it's totally two different questions.

You see, if you were to ask me where's my favourite place to go to; It would probably be Taiwan, London or San Francisco.
BUT if you were to ask me which country I love the most, there will only one answer I'd give;
Yes, Singapore. (*Sings* This is homeee trulyyyyy~~~~)
Hahaha but seriously, there's really nowhere else I'd rather be.

I love my Home, I love the sense of security I have when I'm Home. I feel safe.

I wouldn't deny the World out there is such a beautiful and magical place;
The breathtaking sceneries, the four seasons, the shopping, the cuisines, the people and the different cultures. Everything. But y'know what? I never once felt safe when I'm away.

It always feels like my life's 24/7 at risk;
I never know when will an Earthquake strike.
I never know when will Tsunami decide to attack & eat me up.
I never know if I'll be bury live by a sandstorm.
I never know if the person beside me is tying a bomb to himself.
I never know if the person in front of me would draw a pistol out suddenly and start shooting people...................................................................................

x

Or how about...

Try having a meal half way and the shop owner started locking up the doors then you start to hear loud noises & fire (no not guns thank God) shots... And a troop of people screaming & protesting pass you.

Or try shopping half way and you see 35000 people marching pass you.

HOW WOULD YOU FEEL?
ME: "I WANNA GO HOME!"

Try waiting for the train with your friends at 5pm in the evening & a syndicate of Blacks were targeting to pickpocket/rob/whateveryoucanthinkof you.

HOW WOULD YOU FEEL?
ME: "I WANNA GO HOME!"

Try walking on the streets at 8pm with your 2 friends and suddenly a group of teenagers start to make funny noises and frighten you, then CHASE AFTER YOU.

HOW WOULD YOU FEEL?
ME: "I WANNA GO HOME!" AND RAN.

Try sleeping in the room halfway and suddenly someone bangs on your door making you jump out of bed in the middle of the night. Then you saw 2 guys (with a bottle of beer each in their hands) through the peephole waiting for you to open the damn door.

HOW WOULD YOU FEEL?
ME: "I WANNA GO HOME!"

And yes, all of that above happened to me.

But still I count myself a little luckier because a lot of people have had their belongings pick-pocketed, robbed, bags slashed, rooms barged in by strangers, experienced Earthquakes in NZ/Japan/Turkey, sandstorm in NYC...........

-

See? MY HOME IS THE BEST.

We complain. We complain about everything in this country.
Govt la, Law la, Fines la, Politics la, People la......... EVERYTHING LA.

BUT have you thought... Would you rather stay in a country with lousy ruling of the government, a country with high crime rates, a country with no regulations, a country which their citizens practice racism, cheating and has zero democracy; A country prone to natural disaster, garbage living environment and pollutions everywhere...

Or a clean & green country where you can live safe and healthy everyday, a country with World class medical personnels, well trained military forces, transparency from the government (of course, to a certain extent), low crime rates & promotes racial harmony?

YOU TELL ME LOR.

Well perhaps you and I may think differently, weighing whatever the pros and cons may be;
There's nowhere else I'd rather be.

I'm still a proud Singaporean and more than grateful to be born in this little red dot :)

HONG KONG & SAN FRANCISCO!

I spot this ladybug in SFO and got very exciteddddd hehehehe.
Soooooooo cuteeeeeeeee!

x

OKAYOKAY HELLO!!!! I FINALLY HAVE THE TIME TO BLOG.

So many things to accomplish but so little time :(
Been caught up with too many events & errands to run... Now my body's almost going on strike already. Hate to fall sick because the only thing I could do is stay in bed most of the time and do nothing. The weather's such a bitch seriously.......... So please drink plenty of water and keep fit ;)

x

Anyway, here's the 8 days trip to HongKong and SanFrancisco from 18th to 25th April!
This flight pattern's one of the most popular because it's not easy to come by in our rosters. But thank you carmen, I've been one of the few luckier crew as this was my 4th time doing SQ2 in my two years flying, one of which is called up! Hehehehehe :)

This is no doubt an eat-shop-party-eat-eat-andstilleatttttt flight and crew are always happening and fun. And what got me even more excited for the flight was that I was flying together with my primary schoolmate, Val! ;) Hehe it's ALWAYS good to have friends onboard.

Here's a picture of both of us when we were in primary 3 :

HAHAAHAHAHAHAHA HOW TIME FLIESSSSSS!

SEE now we're all grown up!

x

The second reason why I was looking forward to the trip was because my dear girl, Jean (ALSO MY PRIMARY SCHOOL MATE) was just nice holidaying in Hongkong and we met! :D :D :D

Pardon the morning faces...

We wanted to have Tim Ho Wan for breakfast but due to time constrain (as I was checking out later in the evening), we went to have dimsum at Sweet Dynasty instead :)
The dimsum variety wasn't a lot but it's enough to satisfy.

We sat there for two hours waiting for the food to digest & had hearty talks about everything in the World. Hehehe. And then we had Mango for dessert!

Nothing beats having to see familiar faces overseas :)
Can't wait for our holiday together!

x

From HKG, we flew 12 hours over to San Francisco;
And I must say, other than Singapore - SFO has got to be one of my favourite city!

A place where you could spend quality alone time, doing all your shopping & have all the good American food! In my own opinion, I think it is much easier to get around in SFO as compared to LA/NYC/HOUSTON.

There are different modes of transportation that allows you to access easily to anywhere.
You could take the cab, the tram, or their famous cable cars!

And nope, their cable cars doesn't suspend in the air - They run along the tracks on the roads;

Heh heh managed to dig out the photos I took a year ago!

And you could buy a day pass to enjoy unlimited rides on the trams & cable cars :)
I couldn't remember how much it costs though. Roughly... 12USD?

There are seats both inside & outside of the cable car.
But if you would like to enjoy the sceneries more & feel the thrill like me...

Stand along the cable car edge!
Hehehehehehe.

x

I love love love SFO.
And the weather was perfect for sightseeing!

If you ever travel to USA/Europe and the weather reads 18-23degs, please still bring along a cardigan whenever you're outside. Because the weather could be so drastic and unpredictable; One moment the scorching sun could burn you and the next thing you know, the evening chill's freezing you in the cold. So... Yeah. Don't let the weather ruin your day!

x

I was the tour guide for the day! *SO PROUD OF MYSELF*
Hehehe. So first stop, to the famous breakfast joint, SEARS!

NEVER miss breakfast when you're in states ;)

I like my breakfast extra large with eggs done overeasy/sunnysideup...

& I love their berry-bowl!

x

Met up with May and we took a bus straight to the Golden Gate Bridge!
Lucky us because it was a weekend, so there's a direct bus from Union Square straight to GGB. Save the hassle of needing to find our way there and changing trams. Yay.

After a roughly 15 mins ride...

FINALLY WE'RE HERE!

It was my fourth trip to SFO but the first time to the GGB...

What's better than having your childhood friend with you? ^^

Sorry I just can't help it must camwhore.
HAHAHAHAHAHA.

"JU!!! Abercrombie lai liao!"

HAHAHA *TURNSANDSNAP!* *FASTESTFINGERWINS*

Took a stroll along the bridge then made our way to another tourist attraction -
The Fisherman's Wharf!

Quite cool ah the way they cook the crabs.

& You guys can try the famous Clam Chowder in a bread bowl when you're in SFO, I'm not a fan of soups but it's really not bad. Put it into your to-eat-list if you're ever traveling to SFO!

x

Photos are deceiving... These golden twister fries look damn good right.
BUT NO IT'S NOT. It's a little cold and not crispy enough :/

x

Along the way to Pier 39...

These street baskers are damn incredibly talented.

x

The Churros also not nice :( What a disappointment! Tsk.

As usual, visited the Sea Lions....

Read more about why they're famous at Pier 39 HERE :)

x

By the time we were done it was already 4-5pm.
So we made our way back to Union Square for shopping!

Met up with the rest of the crew for dinner at The Cheesecake Factory located at Macy's.
WE QUEUED THREE HOURS JUST TO HAVE DINNER.
Nearly died of exhaustion and hunger X.X

Had the spicy seafood linguine for dinner, not bad la.

Oh and another thing - When you're at The Cheesecake Factory, always SHARE. Because the portion is really, really huge. I haven't seen anyone cleared their plate of pasta before. Hahaha.
So we would normally take away the remaining or just share!

And I only had a picture for the night because the lights were too dimmed :/

Called it a day and crassssssshed in bed!

x

Slept till noon the next day & had Thai food lunch :)

I tell you, the Thai Iced Milk Tea in SFO is a die-die-must-have! It's the bestttttt.
But unless you're a real sweet tooth, remind them to make it less sweet if not you'll probably get sick of it after finishing half a glass. Hahaha.

Spent the rest of the day finishing up our shopping! I really didn't want to shop...
BUT there was sales in Sephora and I couldn't help it la :/ Somemore I'm a sucker for fragrances and pretty lipsticks. So... Damage done.

Took a nap before checking out & flew back to HKG!

x

The flight back to HKG was freaking 14 hours.
Thank God for nice crew who made the flight less draggy!

Touched down early in the morning & had a power nap for 3 hours.

Love the pretty YSL lippiestick :)

And the most torturous thing is having to pull yourself out of the bed...
But for the sake of Dimsum, I DID IT! Hahaha

We made our way to TIM HO WAN!!!!!!!!
Yes we were all very excited about it since it's such a craze in SG now, people actually queue up to 3 hours just to have a meal there.

Erm......... Sorry to say but it took us only 5 mins hehehehehehehehehheehhee
Authentic & fresh in HONGKONG!
*Hate me for all you want* :p :p :p

We had ALOT but I didn't manage to capture all the food because we were famished!

HMMMM YUMZX THE FAMOUS CHASIEWBAO!!! DAMNNNNN GOOD.

This is really good. It looks like some pork/shrimp/vege dumpling isn't it?
But the filling's actually very peanutty and crunchy! Hahahahahahaha okay I don't know how to describe it la but it'll definitely surprise you on your first bite. A MUST HAVE!!
(I don't know if they serve it in SG though?)

And we had the Osmanthus jelly with Wolfberries for dessert!

The bill came up to be 604HKD = $95.99SGD!
SO CHEEEEEEEEEEAP!

YAY to the awesome THW gang! ^^

x

And then we went to the famous temple, Wong Tai Sing, before shopping!

x

When the night falls what do you do in HKG?

WHAT ELSE? Hahahahahaahahaaa.
Even though it was a Tuesday night... PARTY!

What a fun bunch! :)
Back to the hotel after supper and slept all the way till noon.

YUMTUMTUMZ! :D

x

Back to Singapore the next day & J picked me up from the airport was the happiest thing :)
I always look forward to coming home before departing for a long flight & that's probably the only thing that motivates me to go to work now.

The body's going haywire already and before I could recover... I'm flying off to Tokyo & L.A two days later :/ Oh well, I'm quite looking forward to it since I have Charmaine onboard with me and hopefully we could make it to Six Flags!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D

YES SO, STAY TUNE AGAIN FOR ANOTHER 8 DAYS TRIP POST!
^^
